The January School Board meeting of the Northwestern School Board of Trustees will be held on MONDAY, January 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Northwestern High School Learning Commons. There will NOT be a meeting on Thursday, January 9th.


We would like to Congratulate and Thank Mr. Mike Horstman on the time he has put into the Northwestern High School Athletic Program. Through his hard work, he has earned the NIAAA Quality Assessment Award! CONGRATULATIONS!


Tune in to the 2024 National Athletic Directors Conference, where Dan Armstrong and Mike Blackburn will be inducted into the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Hall of Fame! Congratulations!

The Northwestern High School TIGER PRIDE Band performed in the Indy ArtsGarden today in the Mistletoe Festival! They had a great performance!

The Board of School Trustees of Northwestern School Corporation on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 will hold an executive session meeting to discuss job performance evaluation of an individual employee. This executive session will be held immediately following the regularly scheduled Board meeting at 7:00 pm held at Northwestern High School Media Center at 3431 N. Co Rd W, Kokomo, IN 46901.

UPDATE: Good morning once again! This is Kristen Bilkey, Superintendent of NWSC. School is CANCELLED at Howard Elementary School today, November 18. Due to the timing and circumstances, we will not have distance learning. Thank you again for your understanding and flexibility! We appreciate our Hornet parents and staff!

Good Morning, this is Kristen Bilkey, Superintendent of Northwestern School Corporation. HES experienced a water line break after students were already in route to school. HES students will be returning home IF a parent is at home. Otherwise, HES students will be transported to NES until they can be picked up or school resumes. Morning Preschool (PK) is cancelled. Updates will be provided as we receive them.

The Board of School Trustees of Northwestern School Corporation will hold a private executive session on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 following the adjournment of the regular board meeting to discuss collective bargaining. The meeting will be held at Howard Elementary School Cafeteria located at 3526 N 300 E, Kokomo, In 46901.

The middle school spell bowl team competed at Western Wednesday November 6th bringing home 2nd place! Please join us in celebrating their accomplishment!

We invite you to join us this weekend Friday and Saturday November 1st and 2nd as the NHS Drama Club presents “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”. Based on the books by Robert Fulghum this play is compiled of multiple heart warming hilarious story’s that take us through the journey of life and how the world would be improved if we adhered to the same basic rules as children in kindergarten focusing on kindness, simplicity, and empathy. We hope to see you there!
